In the light of today’s press conference by the Prime Minister and the guidance from the RFU relating to the Coronavirus, we wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the situation at Hitchin Rugby Club.
The club will continue to follow all Government, England Rugby and Herts Rugby requirements and advice.
This means that all Rugby and clubhouse activity will be suspended at the club - this includes club training, league and cup matches plus rugby education courses from 17 March until 14 April subject to continued review. It also means the Clubhouse and Pavilion is now closed until 14 April.
The decision has been taken in the interests of players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters and the wider Hitchin Rugby community.
Where possible, players are encouraged to maintain their own personal fitness and keep active during this time, while following government guidelines about safe distance and safe exercise environments.
The clubhouse is now closed until 14 April (subject to continued review).
We are in discussion with the various rugby tour organisers and will update tourists later this week. If you have any immediate questions about a tour, please contact your section or age-group tour rep.
The club will continue to review and monitor the RFU’s and government advice and will provide further updates over the coming weeks.
